About Classic Residences – Becton Living

Classic Residences Brighton is a residential community that provides resort style living for the over 55 years age group. The facility consists of 285 independent living units, 120 serviced apartments, 100 separate living houses, a restaurant, commercial kitchen, indoor swimming pool, hairdresser, convenience shop and administration area all set amongst 14 acres of landscaped gardens.

Classic Residences – Becton Living engaged ecovantage to produce a Water Management Action Plan (waterMAP) to meet State Government efficiency requirements for high users of water (›10 mega litres).

ecovantage prepared the waterMAP in accordance with state government guidelines and identified potential water savings of approximately 25% per annum.

Whilst Becton Living was underway with changes to landscaping and was considering installing water storage devices, the ecovantage report confirmed the validity of these activities and provided estimated costs and benefits associated with many further recommendations.

Recommendations included diverting the water from the periodic fire service checks from the drain to water tanks used for garden watering. This effectively saves many thousands of litres of water several times a year. Other water tanks are to be installed in the below ground car park and used for different areas of garden and water saving shower heads and washers will reduce use.
