ecovantage joined forces with SMS Management and Technology (SMS) to deliver a Carbon Data Discovery Project to CSR in preparation for the implementation of Australia’s Carbon Pollution Reduction Scheme (CPRS).
ecovantage has had a long standing relationship with SMS. A leading Australian IT management services company, SMS specialise in improving operations performance and IT delivery and do this by enhancing the way people, processes and technologies interact within an organisation.
CSR is one of Australia’s largest manufacturers of building products and producers of sugar and associated by-products. CSR has a substantial environmental footprint and are obliged to report under the Federal Governments Energy Efficiency Opportunities program and the National Greenhouse and Energy Scheme. CSR are definitely in line to be included in the upcoming CPRS.
CSR recognised that their carbon data handling and reporting would need to be very efficient and intelligent to effectively manage their CPRS and other environmental reporting responsibilities. SMS and ecovantage delivered a specialist analysis of CSR’s current data management systems and identified a solution roadmap towards an efficient data capture, management, reporting and permit trading system.
The collaboration between ecovantage and SMS proved very effective, specialist skills and knowledge were combined to provide a unique service which CSR found valuable to the objectives of the project.
