Ecovantage visits the ATO

Ecovantage employee Hugh Bartram visited the ATO’s Melbourne office this week as a guest of the ATO’s Green Team to discuss energy both in the workplace and at home.  Hugh gave advice on steps people can take to decrease their carbon footprint by reducing their energy consumption- how best to heat and cool the home, the benefits of insulation and draught proofing and what products are available to consumers wanting to lower their energy use. Hugh touched on the range of products that are available for free through Ecovantage thanks to the state government’s Victorian Energy Efficiency Target scheme, as well as the range of cash rebates available to people if they purchase energy efficient whitegoods, televisions, heating and hot water systems. He also discussed the rebates available to residents and businesses if they choose to switch over from energy hungry halogen downlights to efficient LED replacements. Hugh said it was great to get out there and discuss the easy changes that can be made to behaviour and homes to drastically reduce energy use. This will decrease energy bills as well as lessen your household’s environmental impact. We hope the ATO’s employees benefit from Ecovantage’s visit and we congratulate them on taking this step toward energy efficiency and sustainability.
