Ecovantage welcomes the Emissions Reduction Fund White Paper and in particular the extension of the funding for it from $1.5 billion to $2.5 billion.
We will continue to work within EECCA to maximise the many benefits available to the Australian economy and the environment through energy efficiency measures funded in this construct.
Certainly our experience with the State schemes has shown that a well considered energy efficiency scheme is practical and beneficial to not just those directly participating but the broader community and economy. The schemes have contributed to the unprecedented reduction in energy demand in the past 5 years of more than 10%. This is a significant benefit as it lowers wholesale costs, emissions and stress on infrastructure.
The ERF will also contribute in a similar manner just under a different architecture.
Ecovantage will work with it’s partners to ensure the success of the scheme. Stay tuned
