What This Means for Installers.

The PDRS expansion introduces significant financial incentives for installing eligible Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) across various commercial and residential strata settings in NSW. Securing accreditation means Ecovantage is perfectly positioned and ready to process Peak Reduction Certificates (PRCs) the moment these new activities commence next week. 

Understanding the New BESS Activities.

The new Store and Shift Capacity (SASC) method introduces three activities designed to lower upfront costs for installing energy storage:

• • BESS3 (Apartment Buildings): Covers battery installations in residential Class 2 apartment buildings with 4 or more dwellings, for capacities from 20 to 200 kWh.
  • BESS4 (Small & Medium Businesses): Supports commercial installations for small and medium businesses (excluding residential buildings and data centres) with 20 to 200 kWh of eligible capacity.
  • BESS5 (Commercial & Industrial): Geared toward larger commercial and industrial systems, covering eligible capacities from over 200 kWh up to 30,000 kWh.
