As an organisation that exists to guide businesses in sustainable energy practices, Ecovantage are committed to leading by example and are proud to receive re-certification as an accredited Climate Active Carbon Neutral organisation for our business operations.
In its third consecutive year of certification, Ecovantage achieved a 59% decrease in emissions through a range of new efficiency initiatives, and building on efforts from previous years.

What is Climate Active?
Climate Active certification is an acknowledgment reserved for organisations that have successfully achieved carbon neutrality, adhering to the stringent criteria outlined in the Climate Active Carbon Neutral Standard. This certification extends its scope to encompass a broad spectrum, including business operations, products, services, events, precincts, and buildings. In essence, it serves as a formal recognition of an entity’s commitment to environmental responsibility, showcasing a dedicated effort towards mitigating its carbon footprint and contributing to a sustainable future.
What have we been doing?
Staff Travel: Prioritising Impact
Ecovantage has updated its business travel policy to prioritise virtual meetings over in-person gatherings whenever feasible. This approach helps to minimise emissions from travel and accommodation.
Electricity: Solar Powered
Ecovantage planned to decrease our Scope 2 grid electricity emissions by 30% by 2025 from a 2020-2021 base year. This strategy included upgrading to the most energy-efficient lighting available and installing solar panels at our Victorian office to generate on-site renewable energy. For locations without solar capability, we retire Large-scale Generation Certificates (LGCs) for all electricity use. Our organisation is currently operating on 100% renewable energy through LGC retirement and GreenPower.
Working from Home: Empowering Employees for a Greener Tomorrow
Ecovantage maintains a hybrid working model for all employees across all states to reduce Scope 3 commuting emissions. To support energy efficiency at home, upfront discounts are offered on products and services through our operations, and assist employees in accessing state-specific energy efficiency programs.
Vehicles: Right-sized and Electric
Ecovantage has reduced its fleet and continues to transition the fleet to electric vehicles, with all new company vehicle leases being electric.
Staff Induction & Training: Continual Learning
Employees receive training on energy efficiency best practices for both the workplace and home. We host ongoing initiatives to raise awareness of sustainable practices and provide additional education on reducing emissions.
ICT Services and Equipment: Sustainable Infrastructure
Annual IT infrastructure reviews explore sustainable options, including reduction in purchases, purchasing refurbished IT equipment and energy-efficient equipment and products. When procuring new ICT Services, Ecovantage seek to understand the vendor’s product or service emissions.
Over the past year we successfully reduced ICT purchases, streamlining operations and minimising electronic waste, contributing to our overall sustainability strategy.
Professional Services: Choosing a Greener Future
Ecovantage prioritises working with professional service providers who are carbon-neutral certified or have sustainability and emissions reduction strategies.
Sustainable Supply Chain: Influencing our Partners
Ecovantage recognises the importance of working with suppliers to minimise environmental impact. Our sustainability actions have been presented to key partners, inspiring them to take meaningful steps toward incorporating sustainability into their own processes.
