The latest round of the Manufacturing Energy Efficiency Grant Program is now open. The grant of up to $50,000 is for Queensland-based manufacturers to improve energy efficiency measures and technology, reduce energy usage, costs and emissions.
Lighting upgrades may be eligible for up to 100% of project costs, while applications for other eligible projects can seek funding of 75% of the project costs.

- Closing Date: 30 June 2025, or until all funding is allocated

- Assessment period: Allow up to 12 weeks
- Reimbursement:
- LED lighting projects: up to 100%
- Other projects: up to 75%
Program Objectives

- Increasing the uptake of energy efficiency measures and technology by Queensland-based manufacturing SMEs
- Supporting Queensland-based manufacturing SMEs to reduce energy usage and costs
- Enabling carbon emissions reduction in support of the Queensland Government’s commitment to net-zero by 2050, as well as Queensland’s renewable energy and climate targets
- Increasing awareness of energy use by manufacturers.

- Compressed air improvements
- Electrification (from gas or fuel-based process to electric)
- Heat pumps
- Industrial refrigeration
- Industrial HVAC system
- LED lighting
- Energy Monitoring Systems and Energy Action Plans
- Replacement of equipment to a more energy efficient model OR replace parts of equipment (motors, fans, compressors, heaters, conveyors) to make the equipment more efficient

Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for this grant, ensure your business meets the following criteria:

- Not have been awarded funding in Round 1
- Must be an SME with between five and 100 full-time equivalent employees
- Queensland based business, with their principal activity and majority annual turnover derived from manufacturing
- LED lighting projects must have a cost of at least $7,500 (excluding GST) or $10,000 (excluding GST) for other eligible projects
