Heating rebates - Victoria

Thinking about upgrading your heating?

If you are upgrading to a more energy efficient heating system, you may be eligible for a rebate under the VEET scheme.

The rebate amount is calculated based on:

  • the type of system you are replacing
  • the type of system you are installing
  • your location.

To find out which heating upgrades and units are eligible for a rebate, you can either:

Check the VEET Calculator

Go to the VEET calculator and add the system details into the calculator.

You'll need to choose the appropriate space heating activity (Activities 5-10).

If your system is eligible, you will see the total number of VEECs shown at the bottom. This is used to calculate your rebate amount which varies based on the current VEEC price. Call us to find out your estimated rebate amount.

How to claim your rebate

Although you are welcome to submit the paperwork yourself, we recommend you submit your claim via an installer who is experienced in the VEET scheme. If you choose to submit the claim yourself, please contact us to confirm that you are eligible for a heating rebate.

Note: Photos are an important part of the documentation required. These must be geo-tagged and date stamped which means they must be taken AT THE TIME of your installation.

Complete the assignment form

Download and complete your Assignment form (two pages) in black or blue pen and sign it.
The link to download the assignment form can be found below step 3.

Note: It is essential that you complete this form correctly and completely. If it is incomplete, your rebate will be delayed.

Compile supporting documents

Take a copy of your:

  • Plumbing Compliance Certificate
  • Customer invoice showing supply and install dates
  • Electrical Safety Certificate (if electrical work was required)
  • Geo-tagged and date stamped photo showing brand, model and serial number of decommissioned unit
  • Geo-tagged and date stamped photo showing that unit has been permanently rendered inoperable
  • Recycling receipt.

If any of the above documents are missing, incorrect or incomplete, we will not be able to process your rebate.
