Rebate FAQs
Yes, providing that your claim is lodged within six months of the install year. For example, if a VEET approved television was purchased on the 16/02/2014, this must be claimed before the 30/06/2015.
Once your paperwork has been received and approved, you will receive the rebate within 30 days.
The number of certificates your upgrade generates is calculated based on:
- the type of system you are replacing.
- the type of system you are installing. It must be accredited under your state energy efficiency scheme.
- the post code of the installation. Regional locations generate a higher number of certificates than metropolitan areas.
No. We are authorised to provide the rebates. However we have strong partnerships with quality tradespeople and can usually recommend one in your area.
Decommissioning ensures that the old system cannot be used again. This may involve piercing a hole in the tank or taking the unit to a recycler or scrap metal dealer. Simply disconnecting the old unit is not considered decommissioning as it could be reconnected again.
To meet the requirements of the energy efficiency schemes, evidence of decommissioning (such as photos of the old unit or recycling receipt) must be provided.
A list of the approved units can be found on the ESC VEU Product Register. Alternatively, you can contact us directly and we can provide you with a list of eligible products.
The VEEC price is market based and is subject to change. Contact us prior to your installation to find out the current VEEC price.
You can provide us with your upgrade details and we will provide you with an estimate of the rebate.
Alternatively, you can calculate the rebate yourself using the VEU calculator. This will calculate the number of VEECs your installation generates. To work out the rebate amount, simply multiply the VEEC amount by the current VEEC price.
The installation date you provide on your paperwork is the day the work is completed. This will correspond with the dates on your Plumbing Compliance Certificate or Electrical Compliance Certificate (if wiring work was conducted).
After confirming you are eligible for a rebate, you will need to complete the Ecovantage assignment and decommission form.
We will also require a copy of the purchase receipt, the Plumbing Compliance Certificate and the Electrical Compliance Certificate (if applicable).
We are not able to process your rebate claim if the installed unit is not registered under VEET.
We recommend that you contact the manufacturer to inquire into product registration. The list of VEET approved products is updated quarterly.
