The Victorian Labor government has confirmed it will extend the Victorian Energy Efficiency Target scheme if elected in November. The Napthine  government, despite opposition from Labor and the Greens,  is planning to end the scheme next year. So, what a relief it is to hear this support from Labor.

The scheme, which was introduced in 2007, with bi-partisan support was designed to run for 30 years. We’ve written about the decision to ditch the VEET scheme here – Government ditched VEET scheme on dodgy numbers and some of the benefits of the scheme here – The VEET scheme: a good news story.

If you can believe the polls, Labor is in the lead. But who knows? Roll on November!
