2023 End of Year Wrapped

Ecovantage turns 17 in January – woah! Looking back, we have hit some bumps and made some turns, but we have certainly learnt a lot along the way and settled into a really great place.

We said farewell to a few and welcomed a whole bunch of really great people. It appears we have not only grown a bit, but we are better for it. It’s never easy to see great people leave, but it really has given others a chance to step up and take on new roles.

The big news at the end of this year is the arrival of our Energy Efficient Product Solutions General Manager, David Jansen, into the North Sydney office. We are really looking forward to 2024 with David on board.

This year Ecovantage became unquestionably the largest company of its type in the country. We generated a record number of certificates of all kinds in each jurisdiction, with back to back audits in NSW driving our Compliance people crazy. Fortunately they are good at it.

Our Resi Products (heat pump) business had another good year, particularly in South Australia. A lot more to do especially in VIC and NSW. And especially as we continue to diversify to other products.

Our commercial sales division finished the year with the wind in the sails and jobs all across the eastern seaboard, whilst the professional services (A) team are hitting their strides with energy audits and NABERS assessments, plus we welcomed lots of new power stations and LGC clients who we love working with.

The fabulous Solutions team (IT & Comms) have dealt with thousands of changes as we continue to move with the market. They should be applauded for not just keeping our systems up and running (no small feat), but improving efficiencies and handling new activities seemingly every other week.

The market moved again this year – it’s not just becoming green, it’s not even just saving costs, but it is now a focus on getting off gas. Ecovantage is really well positioned to help this move away from gas, and by doing so help the planet!

Talking about the planet, we hit the end of 2023 just short of achieving our 2025 goal of being directly involved in the abatement of 10 million tonnes of CO2e! 10 million! That is massive and will certainly be celebrated when it happens early next year.

So, whilst 2023 was tough in some ways, we hit the end of the year with a team in better shape and hungry for success in 2024.

Enjoy the break, take care, and come back ready for some more fun in 2024!
