The Journey Towards Decarbonisation for Melbourne Markets

Solar for Melbourne Markets

In an effort to embrace sustainable energy practices, Melbourne Markets has engaged Ecovantage to create LGCs (Large-scale Generation Certificates) to quantify the renewable energy produced by two newly commissioned Solar PV systems. As one of Australia’s largest ACPs (Accredited Certificate Provider), Ecovantage has partnered with Next Generation Electrical as the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) partner, and has begun LGC creation.

The partnership between Ecovantage and Melbourne Markets allows for the creation of LGCs, which represents the renewable energy generated by the market’s solar systems. The LGCs act as internationally recognised commodities, and create an opportunity for Melbourne Markets to track the success of their commitment to sustainability and contribute to Australia’s renewable energy target.

This is a significant step towards sustainability for Melbourne Markets. By embracing solar energy and generating LGCs, Melbourne Markets not only gain the opportunity to reduce its carbon footprint, they also strengthen the credibility of their decarbonisation journey. This collaboration serves as a prime example of how organisations can leverage renewable energy technologies to achieve environmental objectives while also creating additional value for their businesses.
