To encourage more efficient use of electricity and gas in homes, financial incentives under the NSW Energy Savings Scheme (ESS) are offered to households to help facilitate and reduce the cost of this transition.

These programs are based around certificate trading where a value is placed on the amount of carbon dioxide equivalent that has been reduced or removed from the atmosphere.

*For customers in NSW with an existing electric hot water system, you can replace it with a new 215 litre energy-efficient heat pump hot water system from $33 (including GST). Additional fees will apply for replacing in-ceiling or internal hot water systems, non-electric hot water systems, where any additional plumbing or electrical work are required, or when upgrading to a larger unit. Ecovantage will ask you a series of questions to help you to understand any costs that may be incurred prior to confirming your booking. We will provide an estimate based on the information provided, which may change if the information provided is incorrect or insufficient.

**Replacing your gas hot water system with a heat pump.
The cost of installing a heat pump starts from $999 (including GST) in New South Wales. The costs are based on replacing a gas hot water system in an outside location, with a solid base, close to a drain, power and water. Additional costs may be incurred for other locations, concrete slabs, or extra plumbing and electrical work. A proposal will be supplied upon application and assessment, prior to commencing work.

This scheme gives households access to a number of energy savings to help reduce energy use and cut power bills, including upgrading existing appliances and energy equipment throughout the home to more energy efficient models.
